Improvised Comedy Austentatious Finds New Home at the Vaudeville Theatre
The hit improvised comedy show Austentatious has found a new home in London, continuing its successful run at the Vaudeville Theatre. Known for its boisterous energy and audience participation, Austentatious brings a unique twist to Jane Austen’s works, and it’s set to delight audiences with a different performance every night.
About Austentatious
Originally a sensation at the Edinburgh Fringe, Austentatious has also toured the UK and performed at the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC) in Stratford-upon-Avon. The show invites audiences to shout out the title of a “lost” Jane Austen novel at the beginning of each performance, resulting in an improvised play filled with plot twists, innuendo, and period costumes, all accompanied by live music.
West End Premiere at the Vaudeville Theatre
To mark Jane Austen’s 250th birthday, Austentatious will perform on Monday evenings at the Vaudeville Theatre starting 24 March 2025, during the weekly break of the resident show Six. This move marks an exciting new chapter for the production as it continues its journey in London’s West End.

A Message from the Cast
The cast shared their excitement about the new venue:
“We are absolutely thrilled to continue our West End journey at the most beautiful Vaudeville theatre! We have ardently admired the elegance of the Vaudeville, whilst perambulating along the Strand, that we must admit to feeling giddy with excitement to grace its boards with our particular Regency silliness! ‘Have a banana!’ As we have heard the locals say, and indeed we will!”
