Rachel Zegler Cast in Evita at The London Palladium
Rachel Zegler will star as Eva Perón in a new revival of Evita at The London Palladium, directed by Jamie Lloyd. The production will run from 14 June to 6 September 2025, with a press night on 27 June.
This highly anticipated staging of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s classic musical will mark Zegler’s UK stage debut, following her rise to fame in Steven Spielberg’s West Side Story and upcoming roles in Snow White and The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes.
An “Evolution” of Jamie Lloyd’s Vision for Evita
Lloyd previously directed a critically acclaimed outdoor production of Evita at Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre in 2019. This new version has been described as an “evolution” of that concept, bringing Lloyd’s stripped-back, contemporary vision to one of musical theatre’s most iconic roles.
Speaking about the production, Lloyd said:
“I am so excited to be collaborating with the brilliant Rachel Zegler on Evita. She is a phenomenal talent, and I am delighted she will be making her West End debut as the iconic Eva Perón.”
Rachel Zegler on Taking on the Role of Eva Perón
Zegler shared her excitement about stepping into the role:
“Evita has been such an important musical to me since I was a little girl, when my dad and I would sing ‘Don’t Cry for Me Argentina’ together on my back patio. The opportunity to bring Jamie Lloyd’s singular, visionary ideas to life onstage is an honour unlike any other. The stage has always felt like home to me, and I can’t wait to make my West End debut in such great company.”
