Donmar Warehouse Announces Cast for Intimate Apparel by Lynn Nottage
The Donmar Warehouse has revealed the full cast for its highly anticipated production of Lynn Nottage’s Intimate Apparel, set to open on 26 June 2025, with previews beginning on 20 June 2025.
About Intimate Apparel – A Tale of Love, Ambition, and Desire
Set in New York in 1905, Intimate Apparel tells the story of Esther, a talented seamstress who creates exquisite lingerie for a diverse group of women. As she dreams of greater independence and a brighter future, her emotional and romantic desires complicate her journey. These desires are explored through her exchange of letters with a stranger, leading to a poignant narrative about love, ambition, and self-discovery.

Reuniting Pulitzer Prize-Winner Lynn Nottage with Director Lynette Linton
This new production brings together Lynn Nottage, a two-time Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright, and Lynette Linton, the director who has previously collaborated with the Donmar on productions like Clyde’s and Sweat. Their reunion promises to bring an insightful and moving portrayal of 1905 New York to the stage.

Creative Team and Production Details
The creative team behind Intimate Apparel is headed by director Lynette Linton, with set and costume design by Alex Berry, lighting design by Jai Morjaria, and sound design by George Dennis. The production also features Shelley Maxwell as movement and intimacy director, and Cynthia de la Rosa handling wigs, hair, and makeup. Xana will provide the music, with Gino Ricardo Green as video designer, and Lotte Hines and Anna Cooper as casting directors. The production’s voice and dialect coach is Hazel Holder.
