Martin Freeman and Jack Lowden to Star in The Fifth Step West End Premiere
David Ireland’s critically acclaimed play The Fifth Step is heading to the West End later this year, starring Martin Freeman (The Office, Sherlock) and Jack Lowden (Slow Horses, Dunkirk).
After a successful run at the Edinburgh International Festival in 2024, The Fifth Step transfers to London for a limited 11-week engagement at @sohoplace, running from 10 May to 26 July 2025.
Jack Lowden, reprising his role from the original production, shared his excitement:
"To just be in the room again with David and Finn – two dangerously talented individuals – is a gift in itself. But to now add Martin to the mix, an actor of black belt level skill and a hero of mine, just tops it. I can’t wait for more people to experience The Fifth Step."
Martin Freeman also expressed his enthusiasm:
"I’m really looking forward to performing this brilliantly funny, unsettling, unexpected play. David Ireland is something quite special, and Jack Lowden is an actor I have tremendous respect for. I’m thrilled to be working with him."
