Something Rotten! Musical to Make Fully-Staged UK Premiere in 2026
Something Rotten!, the uproarious musical comedy, is set to make its fully-staged UK premiere in 2026 following the success of its sold-out concert performances at Theatre Royal Drury Lane last year. The concert performances were met with critical acclaim and went on to win the WhatsOnStage Award for Best Concert Event.

About Something Rotten!
Set in 1595, Something Rotten! follows the Bottom brothers, Nick and Nigel, two struggling playwrights trying to make a name for themselves in the shadow of the legendary William Shakespeare. When they learn that Shakespeare is the hottest playwright in town, they set out to write the world’s first-ever musical, resulting in hilarious and chaotic situations.
The production features a book by John O’Farrell and Karey Kirkpatrick, with a score by Karey Kirkpatrick and Wayne Kirkpatrick.

Something Rotten! ran for over 700 performances on Broadway and was nominated for 10 Tony Awards, including Best Musical. The show has also been staged across the USA and internationally, garnering praise for its witty, satirical humour and memorable songs.
Jason Manford to Perform at The National Lottery’s Big Night of Musicals
In anticipation of the UK premiere, Jason Manford, who starred in the Drury Lane concert performances, will perform one of the show’s popular musical numbers, “It’s A Musical”, alongside Daniel Mays on The National Lottery’s Big Night of Musicals this Saturday evening on BBC One.
