Thanks for Having Me: A Feel-Good Sitcom-Style Comedy Comes to Riverside Studios
A Fresh Take on Modern Dating
KB Productions has announced the on-sale and full casting for Thanks for Having Me, a lighthearted and upbeat comedy exploring modern romance, dating, and breakups in your late 20s.
This sitcom-style stage play follows two mismatched housemates, Cashel, who is struggling to move on from heartbreak, and Honey, who avoids commitment at all costs. With their opposing views on love, their dynamic sets the stage for awkward, heartfelt, and hilarious moments that will resonate with anyone who has ever navigated the ups and downs of relationships.
The show will run for a limited engagement at Riverside Studios from 7 to 26 April 2025, following a successful run at King’s Head Theatre earlier this year.
A Star-Studded Cast
The production will star:
Kedar Williams-Stirling (Netflix’s Sex Education, CBBC’s Wolfblood) as Cashel
Nell Tiger Free (HBO’s Game of Thrones, 20th Century Studios’ The First Omen) making her stage debut as Honey
Adeyinka Akinrinade (Riches, Amazon Prime)
Keelan Kember, a rising talent in the comedy scene
The Creative Team
Writer: Keelan Kember (February Face, Coffee, Ten Sugars)
Director: Monica Cox
A Relatable, Cathartic Comedy on Love and Moving On
Writer Keelan Kember describes Thanks for Having Me as a truthful reflection of modern relationships:
“I think that at some point in their life, many people will have been, or will in the future be, similar to one of these four characters. They each represent a different take on dating that is reflective of modern life and being a young person, and it is this difference which provides both the tension and the comedy of the play. So anyone who is single will enjoy seeing themselves reflected in some sense, and hopefully find it truthful or cathartic, and anyone who isn't single will thank their lucky stars that they managed to get out alive.”
Keelan Kember: A Rising Playwright to Watch
Kember is a playwright, screenwriter, and actor, whose career has been on the rise. His first professional play, Coffee, Ten Sugars, debuted at Hen and Chicken’s Theatre in 2022. In 2023, his next play, February Face, earned him a Standing Ovation Award for New Writing from London Pub Theatre Magazine. The play later transferred to the main house at the King’s Head Theatre in 2024.
His TV pilot has already been optioned, signaling his growing influence in the entertainment industry.
