The Beauty of Being Herd Takes Its Sheepish Charm on a UK Tour

Following a successful run with sell-out shows at Camden People’s Theatre and the Glasgow Comedy Festival, the original smash-hit The Beauty of Being Herd is hitting the road for its first UK tour from May to July 2025.

This surreal comedy, created by Ruth Berkoff, a graduate of École Philippe Gaulier, will take audiences on a journey through the life of Hannah, a woman grappling with social anxiety and the overwhelming struggle to fit in. The production has already garnered critical acclaim, securing runner-up awards for ‘Best Newcomer’ and ‘Best New Writing’ at the Manchester Fringe.

About the Show

In this playful and tender rollercoaster of a show, The Beauty of Being Herd follows Hannah at her BIG GOODBYE PARTY, where comedy, songs, and heartfelt moments combine. The story touches on themes of social anxiety, isolation, mental health, neurodiversity, and consent—all while delivering these serious subjects with a fun and irreverent approach.

Hannah has always tried to fit into the mold of human life but finds herself at odds with the rules of society. Determined to find peace, she decides to embrace her true self and live as a sheep, embarking on a journey full of humour and heart.

Accompanied by original songs, clowning, and an abundance of sheep facts, The Beauty of Being Herd offers an unexpected exploration of personal growth and self-acceptance.

Ruth Berkoff’s Vision

Ruth Berkoff shares her excitement about the show, saying, "The Beauty of Being Herd shines a light on social anxiety, isolation, mental health, neurodiversity and consent, but in an unexpectedly fun and irreverent way. I love sharing sheep facts, frolicking with the audience, and discussing loneliness—all with knickers on my head."
