Boundless Theatre Introduces New Leadership and Co-CEO Model

Boundless Theatre has announced a new co-leadership model, designed to reshape traditional structures and increase inclusivity in leadership. The organisation, which supports early-career young creatives, has appointed Pavlos Christodoulou and Adèle Reeves de Melo as Co-CEOs to lead its next chapter.

The National Portfolio Organisation, which recently relocated to Croydon, will also introduce a new Associate Programme Director role, specifically designed for an 18-25-year-old, reinforcing its commitment to youth leadership.

A New Co-Leadership Model

The newly appointed Co-CEOs will have distinct but complementary roles:

  • Pavlos ChristodoulouCreative Director & Co-CEO: Leading the artistic vision, creative development, and engagement programmes for early-career artists. Christodoulou, a Cypriot South Londoner, first joined Boundless in 2020 and now returns to shape its future.

  • Adèle Reeves de MeloExecutive Director & Co-CEO: Overseeing strategic leadership, financial sustainability, and operations. Reeves de Melo brings experience from VAULT Festival, where she worked as Programmer, Producer & Co-Head of Theatre.

This co-leadership model reflects Boundless Theatre’s commitment to collaboration and inclusive decision-making.

Introducing Youth-Led Leadership

Boundless Theatre has also appointed Croydon local Beth Drury as Associate Programme Director. The nine-month leadership role, funded by the Blagrave Foundation and The Listening Fund, will empower a young creative to actively shape theatre programmes.

Drury’s first major task will be leading the revitalisation of Boundless Drama Club, a national network that provides young creatives with resources, mentoring, and opportunities.

A New Vision for Boundless Theatre

Under the new leadership, Boundless Theatre is implementing several key changes:

  • Reevaluating career and artist development programmes to provide more targeted support.

  • Expanding the Boundless Drama Club to give more opportunities to young artists.

  • Revamping the Advisory Group to amplify youth voices and offer mentorship.

Boundless is deepening its engagement in Croydon, an Arts Council England Priority Place, ensuring local young people have access to professional development and artistic opportunities.

Statements from the New Leadership

Pavlos Christodoulou, Creative Director & Co-CEO, stated:

“I’m grateful to be reimagining the future of Boundless with Adèle. We want to create an environment where 15–25-year-olds can develop their creativity with care, support, and real opportunities.”

“With funding challenges to arts education, breaking down barriers and providing access is more important than ever.”

Adèle Reeves de Melo, Executive Director & Co-CEO, added:

“At Boundless, we want to create a space where young people feel empowered to experiment, take risks, and even fail—because failure is part of growth.”

“Our focus will be on sustainable, people-first leadership—where care and ambition go hand in hand.”

André Renaud, Chair of the Board of Trustees, shared:

“We are delighted to welcome Pavlos and Adèle as our new Co-CEOs. Their passion for inclusivity and artistic excellence makes them the perfect team to lead Boundless Theatre into its next chapter.”
