Production Photos Released for My Master Builder Featuring Ewan McGregor

New production photos have been released for the highly anticipated West End play My Master Builder, starring Ewan McGregor in the lead role. The play, written by Lila Raicek and inspired by Henrik Ibsen’s work, has been receiving significant attention for its star-studded cast and compelling storyline.

About the Play: My Master Builder

My Master Builder is set in the Hamptons on the eve of Independence Day, where the complex dynamics of love, power, and vulnerability unfold. The play centers around Elena Solness, a successful publishing magnate, and her husband, Henry Solness, a renowned architect. Their seemingly stable marriage is disrupted by the unexpected arrival of Mathilde, a former student of Henry’s with whom he once shared a deep connection. As past and present collide, the play delves into themes of emotional struggle, ambition, and the fragility of human relationships, all inspired by Ibsen’s examination of personal and societal conflicts.

Cast and Creative Team

The West End production stars Ewan McGregor as Henry Solness, reuniting with director Michael Grandage after their successful collaborations on Othello and Guys and Dolls at the Donmar Warehouse. Joining McGregor is Elizabeth Debicki as Mathilde, Kate Fleetwood as Elena, David Ajala as Ragnar, and Mirren Mack as Kaja.

The creative team for My Master Builder includes Richard Kent (set and costume designer), Paule Constable (lighting designer), Adam Cork (composer and sound designer), and Sophie Holland (casting director), among others. Bethany West serves as the associate director, while the production is managed by Kate West, with Lisa Aitken as costume supervisor and Kate Margretts as prop supervisor.
