Originally opening in Chicago in 1971, Grease went on to have a hugely successful Broadway run in 1972, receiving seven Tony Award nominations. The musical’s timeless themes of love, rebellion, and teen spirit were further solidified by the 1978 film adaptation starring John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John. Now, nearly half a century later, this new revival seeks to bring the energy of the musical to new audiences while maintaining its original spirit.
