Pop Off, Michelangelo! to Run at Underbelly Boulevard Soho in 2025
The hit musical Pop Off, Michelangelo! will have a five-week run at Underbelly Boulevard Soho, opening on 23 May 2025, with previews from 17 May. The production, following its successful run at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and concert performances at The Other Palace, will continue until 22 June 2025.
What is Pop Off, Michelangelo! About?
Written by Dylan MarcAurele, Pop Off, Michelangelo! is a musical comedy that follows the rivalry between two of history’s most famous artists—Michelangelo and Leonardo da Vinci—as they compete to create the ultimate religious masterpiece. The show, featuring electropop music and a satirical take on history, received a Popcorn Award Special Mention at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
MarcAurele described the show as “a love letter to artistic ambition, queer identity, and a wildly inaccurate version of history.” He added, “Expect electropop bangers, divine intervention (or lack thereof), and a whole lot of fun."
